Venture's history with Cone University Center goes back to its inception in 1971 when a steering committee appointed by the Chancellor sent a wilderness experience pilot group to UNC Charlotte through the North Carolina Outward Bound School. Venture is not a club, but since its inception, has grown into a program, independent of Outward Bound, within the department, Student Venues & Engagement. Venture's mission is to provide a variety of enriching leadership opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and the community of Charlotte using experiential, "hands on" learning. When they are not outside, you can find Venture staff in Room 223 or visit Venture online.
